ZOOM help for participants

We use the following presentation system for both the forum and the exhibitor presentations Zoom Cloud Meeting. Here we have compiled the most important information for the various systems.

Attend the meeting

Web browser or Zoom Web Client

With the Zoom Web Client , users can join a meeting via a web browser without having to download plug-ins or software.

Join a Zoom meeting without downloading the app:

  1. Look for the meeting invitation link in your e-mail or calendar invitation.
  2. Click on the join link to join the meeting.
  3. In the web browser, a pop-up window prompts you to open or download the application.
  4. Click on Cancel in the pop-up window.
  5. Click on Join from your browser at the bottom of the page.
  6. You will be redirected to a new page.
  7. Click on Allow to give Zoom permission for the microphone and camera.
  8. Register to join the meeting with your name.
  9. (Optional) Activate the checkbox Remember my name for future meetings (Remember my name for future meetings).
  10. Click on Join (Join).

Desktop Client

This access applies to both Windows and macOS systems.

  1. Open the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Join a meeting using one of the following methods:
    • If you would like to join without logging in, click on Join a Meeting .
    • If you would like to join a meeting with registration:
      1. Log in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
      2. Click on the tab Home.
      3. Click on Join (Join).
  3. Enter the Meeting ID and your display name.
    • If you are logged in, change your name if you do not want your default name to be displayed.
    • If you are not logged in, enter a display name.
  4. Select whether you want to connect to audio and/or video.
  5. Click on Join.

Mobile APP

  1. Open the Zoom mobile app.
  2. Join a meeting using one of the following methods:
    • Tap on Join a Meeting if you want to join without logging in.
    • Sign in to Zoom and then tap on Join .
  3. Enter the Meeting ID and your display name.
    • If you are logged in, change your name if you do not want your default name to be displayed.
    • If you are not logged in, enter a display name.
  4. Select whether you want to connect with audio and/or video and tap on Join Meeting (Join Meeting).

Telephone

  1. Select the meeting ID specified in your invitation on your phone.
  2. Enter the meeting ID using the dial pad when prompted.

  • Alt+F4: Close the current window
  • Alt+V: Start/stop video
  • Alt+A: Mute/mute deactivate audio
  • Alt+F: Start/end full screen mode
  • Alt+H: Show/hide chat area in the meeting
  • Alt+U: Show/hide subscriber area
  • Alt+Y: Raise/lower hand
  • Ctrl+2: Read the name of the active speaker

iOS

If you are using an iPad with a keyboard, the following keyboard shortcuts are available in a Zoom meeting:

  • Command + Shift + A: Mute/mute deactivate audio
  • Command + Shift + V: Start/stop my video
  • Command + Shift + H: Show/hide chat
  • Command + Shift + M: Minimize meeting
  • Command + U: Show/hide participant management
  • Command + W: Close the front window, e.g. the window for participant or meeting settings

Telephone dial-in

  • *6: Switching the mute function on/off
  • *9: Raise/lower hand
