discovering hands is a social enterprise which trains blind and vision-impaired people with a highly developed tactile sense to improve early breast cancer detection as Medical Tactile Examiners (MTE) with a totally new, complementary method, the tactile breast examination.

Training for Medical-Tactile Examiner

Participants of the training learn how to perform the Tactile Breast Examination, study the anatomy, physiology as well as benign and malign diseases of the breast. Subsequently, MTE work in gyneacoligist practices or clinics.
