What does it mean for a born-blind gamer to come into contact with the world of computers and video games at an early age and to find their very own ways and approaches to gaming? In times of audio games and games with special, barrier-free functions, why does his heart still beat for an area of gaming that (from the point of view of many) is simply inaccessible and full of barriers? In his presentation, Christian Ohrens wants to show that gaming can be much more than just having accessibility features. That it always depends on the gamer’s perspective and intentions and that, despite all this, there are ways and means in the world of retrogaming to appropriate games and genres ? namely with a good dose of experimentation and willingness to compromise!
