Contents / Description
For many decades, there have been libraries in Germany that produce audio books and lend them free of charge to blind and visually impaired people. In the meantime, audio libraries can also lend their audio books to people who are unable to read a printed book for other reasons. For example, because of MS, bedriddenness, illiteracy, etc. In this workshop we will show you who is allowed to borrow audio books, where and how to register, how lending works (CD, download, app, Alexa, SD/USB), how to get a playback device suitable for the blind and who will answer any further questions you may have personally on the phone.
Speaker
Manuela Reiser, WBH Münster e.V.
As a trained actress, Manuela Reiser worked for many years as a narrator for the audio library for the blind. She now also works in telephone listening advice. She alternates between desk and microphone and takes care of listeners’ questions and requests. She is particularly keen to draw attention to the situation of people with late-onset blindness.
