The key messages are: Assistance in the living and social environment enables self-determination and participation. The services are tailored to individual needs and living environments. Independence and social integration are maintained. The added value: The audience gets a practical overview of the AWS program. No prior knowledge is required for the service.

Nelli Rerich German Society for Deafblindness gGmbH, Essen
After completing her studies in special education, Nelly Rerich works as a deafblind assistant and has been an educational specialist at TINKA “Assistance Services in Residential and Social Settings” since July 2025.
Hildegard Bruns is the managing director of the German Society for Deafblindness. As a trained special education teacher and deafblind assistant, she has been involved in developing support services for deafblind and hearing-impaired people since 2009. She is also the educational director of the TINKA division.
