Digital documents are a central component of modern communication—but are they accessible to everyone? In this 45-minute introductory workshop, experts from the BFit-Bund will teach the basics of accessible document creation. Participants will receive a practical overview of the most important requirements and techniques for creating accessible PDF and Office documents. The workshop covers topics such as: Basic principles of accessibility: What does accessibility mean in digital documents and why is it important? Structuring and formatting: Correct use of headings, lists, and semantic elements Alternative texts: How can images, graphics, and diagrams be made accessible for screen readers?
Readability and navigation: Tips for high-contrast design and logical document structure Practical tools: Overview of testing tools and quality assurance aids The workshop is aimed at anyone who regularly creates documents and wants to make their content accessible to a wider audience—from administrative staff and content creators to interested parties with no prior knowledge.
