SightCity 2027 – rebooking is now open!

From midnight on 1 September 2026, you can secure your stand space for SightCity 2027 – for the first time via our new booking system. We look forward to seeing you again at Kap Europa in Frankfurt am Main from 19 to 21 May 2027.

Dear exhibitors,

Following a highly successful trade fair in 2026, which attracted around 8,000 visitors, we are now moving on to the next round. Your stand space for 2026 has been reserved for you – and it’s well worth checking the deadlines right at the start.

Your upcoming appointments

  • From 1 September 2026, 12 noon: Book meeting rooms
  • Until 4 October 2026: Book online talks for Sight Week
  • until 30 October 2026: Carrying forward the previous year’s figures
  • Until 31 March 2027: Order catalogue entries
  • Until 15 April 2027: Order exhibitor passes
  • Until 30 April 2027: Order accessories
  • Until 19 May 2027: Registration for the exhibitors’ evening

Important: please confirm

Your stand space has been pre-booked, but you must actively confirm your booking. This is the only way to secure your place for 2027 – after 30 October, it will go on general sale.

About stand costs

We have slightly increased the stand prices for 2027. This is not our doing: the costs charged by our service providers have risen, particularly those of Messe Frankfurt. We have kept the increase as small as possible and are only passing on the costs that we actually incur. You can view the details of your terms and conditions on the portal when you book your stand.

New booking system: How to get in

Your existing login details will continue to be valid. Log in as usual – immediately after logging in for the first time, you will be asked to set a new, personal password. This will take a moment and will significantly improve the security of your exhibitor details.

The good news: one less account

Your personal login now also gives you access to the ‘Exhibitor Information’ section on our website. You no longer need a separate password for this – one login for everything.

And for anyone who manages more than one company: you can now manage several companies using a single login. No more switching between different accounts, no need to remember a second password – you simply select which company you’re currently working for in the portal.

Another new feature is the ‘Forgotten password’ function: if you no longer have your login details to hand, you can reset your password yourself via email, without having to go through us. Our automated emails are sent from portal@sightcity.net – if you’re unsure, please check your spam folder and add the address to your address book.

A first impression

We’re not giving everything away just yet – but this much we can say:

  • A dashboard that shows you what’s next, rather than a long list of text links.
  • Your trade fair preparations at a glance: you can see at any time what has already been done for your stand and what still needs to be done.
  • A news and document centre: correspondence and documents relating to your project are all in one place – not scattered across various inboxes.
  • Forms that can be saved temporarily if you are interrupted whilst filling them in.
  • Everything you need to know about your participation in one place – company details, products, presentations, accreditation, exhibitors’ evening, packages and stand booking.

It’s best if you have a look for yourself. We’re keen to hear your first impressions.

Vision Week 2026: Your online talk – we’ll take care of the rest

Vision Week will take place from 8 to 15 October 2026. As was the case last year, you can deliver online presentations via the SightCity platform and showcase your products and topics to an interested audience – without having to travel or set up a stand.

And best of all: we’ll take care of everything else.

We’ll take care of that

  • Promoting your talk via our channels
  • Submitting your event to the ‘Week of Sight’ calendar – this will ensure your talk is also promoted as part of the nationwide campaign week
  • The complete technology and platform
  • Technical support during the presentation
  • Follow-up
  • The release of the recording – including the promotional material

The recording is always included. Only if you switch off the recording yourself during the talk will we be unable to publish anything afterwards.

You’ll take care of that

  • Select an appointment
  • Preparing your presentation
  • to give their talk

That’s all there is to it.

Key figures

  • Bookings: from 1 September, directly via the new booking system – available until 4 October 2026
  • Dates: You choose an available slot – talks can also be arranged at weekends
  • Please enter: title, description and speaker(s), in German and English if required
  • Price: 250 euros per event
  • Handy: You can save your selection and submit a binding registration later

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who book early will get the best broadcast slots.

Finally: Why a new system?

Our previous booking system had been in operation since 2006 – twenty years during which it served us reliably. It was built entirely on text links, and this had a side effect that we always used to chuckle about internally:

“Our booking system is the most accessible in the world. But only for blind people.”

It was brilliant to use with a screen reader. Sighted people sometimes find it exasperating. Over the years, a number of features were added, tacked on bit by bit – and yet, in the end, there were still some functions missing that we would have liked to see.

It is important to note that the new system builds on the old one. We did not start from scratch. The tried-and-tested logic developed over twenty years of trade fair operations remains intact – it now rests on a new foundation and has a new look, upon which we can continue to build.

And accessibility now applies to everyone: the new system has been built entirely in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA and tested with the screen readers NVDA and JAWS – logical keyboard navigation, clear labelling, and sufficient colour contrast. This time, it’s for sighted users too.

The new system is capable of much more than the old one. We’ll be presenting the new features to you in detail, step by step, in the next few issues.

Thank you, Günter

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to Günter Hanke. He built the booking system himself over many years and made it available to us. Without his work, the foundation on which we are building today would not exist – and without him, neither would the new system.

Get in touch with us

A new system only reveals its weaknesses when it’s actually in use. Whether it’s a form that feels clunky, a term that doesn’t quite fit, or a feature that doesn’t work properly with a screen reader – please let us know. We read every piece of feedback, and it goes straight into our further development work.
