One of the key aspects oft the department of Human Genetics (Bioscientia) consists in couseling of patients with all kinds of hereditary eye disorders, primarily retinal dystrophies. We use state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the possible causes of these diseases.

Genetic counselling

Genetic counseling comprises the investigation of individuals affected by or at risk of genetic disorders to help them understand and adapt to the medical, psychological and familial implications of genetic contributions to disease.

Genetic testing

We use latest diagnostic tools to identify changes in DNA sequence or chromosome structure to diagnose or rule out genetic disorders, predict risks for specific conditions, or gain information that can be used to customize medical treatments.
