Lecture calendar

The lecture programme at SightCity, the largest international exhibition for assistive devices for the blind and visually impaired, presents itself with a varied and innovative programme. The event, which takes place at Kap Europa in Frankfurt, combines face-to-face and online formats to ensure maximum accessibility.

The SightCity Forum on Level 1 forms the heart of the lecture programme with discussions and presentations on medical topics, rehabilitation and education. All presentations will be held exclusively in German and will be broadcast both on site and via livestream, allowing interested parties from all over the world to participate. Attendance at the forum presentations is possible without prior registration.

The new workshop stage offers a varied programme that is divided into two main areas: Leisure World and Working World. The programme is aimed at a broad audience: from people with visual impairments and technical experts to IT managers and employees from medium-sized companies who want to learn more about inclusion in the workplace. The practice-orientated workshops are led by experts from various disciplines and offer valuable insights and recommendations for action for the different target groups. Prior registration is mandatory for participation in the workshops in order to ensure optimal implementation.

A special highlight is the Gaming Lab, which is being realised in collaboration with Microsoft/Xbox and Inclusive Gaming. Here, visitors can test both analogue and digital games that have been specially developed or adapted for people with visual impairments without having to register in advance. This innovative platform impressively demonstrates how modern technology is breaking down barriers in the gaming sector.

The exhibitor presentations are offered in a purely online format and enable the participating companies to present their latest developments and solutions to a wide audience. This digital component optimally complements the presence programme and can also be visited without prior registration.

On level 3, a separate area is dedicated to the topic of “Smart mobility”. Forward-looking mobility concepts for people with visual impairments will be presented and discussed on the themed stage there. The presentations will be broadcast both on site and digitally and are freely accessible without registration.
