The problem: Students with dual sensory impairments have difficulty with temporal perspective and understanding shared time. The “here and now” limitation – problems understanding concepts that go beyond their immediate experiences. This is mainly because many temporal concepts are normally learned through visual and auditory cues that help build a more comprehensive understanding of time and sequences. Individual tactile daily schedules – Tactile daily schedules are useful tools, but they have one major drawback: they are used individually rather than collectively, which can limit opportunities for a social understanding of time. Basic concept: • An inclusive weekday system with unique multisensory identifiers helps deafblind students develop a better understanding of the weekly schedule so that they can independently recognize, anticipate, and structure their daily routines while developing a more comprehensive awareness of time.
