Anja Renner lives with Usher syndrome and has only about ten percent of her vision left. Today, she is one of the world’s top paratriathletes and won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. The lecture combines personal experiences with the reality of a progressive eye disease: How does it change everyday life? How do you deal with uncertainty? And why is it important not to become passive? Anja talks about how she redefined her path after her diagnosis—both in sports and in dealing with her vision. A talk about attitude, responsibility, and the decision not to give up on yourself, even when your own possibilities change.
