Boost your self-confidence and burn off energy with a round of fitness boxing: the energetic “Fitness Boxing” workshop is aimed at participants who are interested in sports or already active, and impressively demonstrates how powerful, accessible, and exciting boxing training can be for blind and visually impaired people. In this hands-on format, participants experience that you don’t need visual orientation for an intense, effective, and confident workout—just clear verbal instructions, body awareness, and the willingness to push yourself. The workshop focuses on three key messages: First, that fitness boxing strengthens both body and mind. It promotes strength, endurance, responsiveness, and coordination—all skills that also provide security and self-confidence in everyday life. Second, that boxing training breaks down barriers and encourages people to surpass themselves—because many participants experience how well dynamic movements can be controlled solely through hearing and body awareness. Thirdly, that sport does not require vision, but motivation, clear impulses, and safe instruction. Participants perform basic techniques such as light punch combinations, steps, defensive movements, and coordination exercises together, all acoustically guided and prepared in an accessible manner. The focus is not on competition, but on the experience: feeling power, testing limits, and experiencing self-efficacy. The workshop shows how inclusive and accessible sport can be – and that boxing is an ideal outlet for reducing stress, releasing energy, and developing physical strength.

Basic fitness is helpful, but not essential. Anyone who enjoys exercise or is looking for an intense, dynamic experience is welcome. The exercises are designed to provide a safe and fun workout for both beginners and experienced athletes.
