Visa information for international visitors
Visitors from certain countries require a visa to attend SightCity in Germany. Visa procedures vary depending on the country of origin, and an official letter of invitation from the trade fair organizer is often a required part of the application documents. This letter confirms the purpose of the trip and increases the credibility of your application.
As the organizer of SightCity, we issue such letters of invitation upon request to make it easier for international visitors to attend. The letter is written in two languages (German and English) to ensure acceptance by the visa authorities.
Important information
- Fee: Due to reported attempts of abuse at SightCity 2025, we charge a fee of €30 for issuing an invitation letter.
- Refund: Upon presentation of the invitation letter during your visit to the trade fair, you will receive a direct refund of €15.
- Disclaimer: The invitation letter does not constitute a financial obligation on the part of the trade fair organizers. All costs for travel, accommodation, and other expenses must be borne by the visitor.
- No guarantee: The letter of invitation does not guarantee that a visa will be issued. The final decision is at the discretion of the responsible visa office.
Application process
- Application: Submit your application with a current copy of your passport.
- Verification: You will receive an email with a verification link and a payment link.
- Confirmation: Confirm your request via the verification link.
- Payment: Transfer the fee of €30 via the payment link, stating your name and passport number.
- Exhibition: Once payment has been received, the invitation letter will be created and sent to you digitally by email.

We recommend that you take care of visa matters early on, as processing times can vary depending on the consulate and workload. Please also check the website of the Federal Foreign Office or the relevant German embassy for specific requirements and procedures for visa applications.
